Motorcyclists in West Richland ride for a toy drive

Posted: Updated:

WEST RICHLAND, Wash.-- One hundred fifty motorcyclists from the Tri Cities Desert Thunder and Blue Knights groups came out Sunday to ride for charity.

Each biker brought a new toy with them to donate to the event's toy drive. All the toys will go to kids at local hospitals and homeless shelters.

One motorcyclist says bikers get a reputation of being tough, but says they do have a soft side and are very generous people.

"The motorcycle community sometimes gets a bad rap. It shows that there are some of us out here that aren't the bad guys and we give back to the community," said Bill, Vice President of Desert Thunder Tri-Cities.

The bikers rode from West Richland to Pasco. In addition to the toy drive, people also gave monetary donations to Operation Thank You to support troops.
