Here is a cool little fact brought to my attention by Michelle Dapper: the manager of the World Champion San Francisco Giants used to manage the Spokane Indians.
Bruce Bochy managed the Indians for a season in 1989. Spokane had a 41-34 record that year. Eventual major leaguers on the team included Bryce Florie, Kevin Higgins, Pablo Martinez, Darrell Sherman and Dave Staton.
Bochy's first shot at managing a big league team came in 1995 with the San Diego Padres. He was named the Giants manager in 2007.
