Circle-K stores move into Tri-Cities

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Driving around town, you may have noticed that most of the Sun-Mart store signs are down, being replaced with Circle-K stores.

The West Coast Circle K Vice President, Tim Tourek, is in town, overseeing the conversion. Tourek says the company purchased 18 stores in the Tri-Cities, and 27 total in Eastern Washington. He says Sun Pacific Petroleum will keep ownership of a few stores until they can figure out what to do with them.

Tourek says one of the changes you can expect to see is that the Circle K stores will no longer be selling Shell Gasoline, but have a partnership with Exxon Mobile. But Tourek says besides new uniforms, most of the people behind the counters are staying the same.

Tourek says, he expects all the changes to be complete in all 18 stores in town before the end of the year.
