RICHLAND, Wash. - "Operation Cash for Candy," is back in business for the Tri-Cities.
Dentists, health professionals and Numerica Credit Union will be teaming up to take away Halloween candy for cash. For every pound a child gets one-dollar.
All the candy will go to troops serving overseas through "Operation Thank You." They say this is a great way to promote a healthier diet.
Health professionals tell us a lot of kids actually like giving their candy away.
"Kids love it, kids come in here excited. They get to stand on this stool weigh the candy, they get money. We actually have them sign, if they want, they can sign a card saying thank you to the troops that gets bundled along and sent to the troops," said, Dr. Lee Ostler, Dentist and Event Organizer.
There is also a drawing that parents can enter to win extra prizes. There are many locations to drop off candy.
