RICHLAND, Wash. - For the third time in four years, the Richland Bombers volleyball team will enter the 4A Washington state tournament, but the road wasn't easy. After winning the Mid-Columbia Conference, the Bombers lost their first regional match to Mead, then they went the distance in a five game match against Central Valley. The bombers talk about how their no-quit attitude helped them reach the state tournament.
"I think we showed a lot of character, playing Central Valley, since we were down the two (games). Then we dug down deep enough that we could come back, win all three and just like, play as a team like we didn't back down, we didn't freak out we just kept playing," said Senior team captain Alisha Bettinson.
"One thing about this group is that they're very resilient. You know we, they're not quitters at all," said Bob Raidl, Richland Head volleyball coach. "And so I felt like we would be able to come back, I wasn't sure if we would be able to win. But I knew that they wouldn't quit."
