Former White House Fellow speaks at Capitol Theatre

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- A former White House Fellow shared his story with hundreds of people at the Capitol Theatre Wednesday.

Wes Moore spoke about his journey from a troubled childhood to his eventual success as a Rhodes Scholar and business leader.

His presentation was part of the Yakima Town Hall Speaker Series.

Moore compares his life to another man with the same name, who is spending the rest of his life in prison for the murder of a police officer.

He says the other Moore could have easily had the same life story.

"I look at the way he thinks about things and it's really interesting and that's what led me to kind of understand and say you know, had he made different decisions, I just can't help but think where he could be," said Moore.

He eventually wrote a book about his experiences called "The Other Wes Moore".

He hopes it will inspire people to make a difference in the lives of others.
