SEATTLE, Wash. - Barred owls have been swooping down on people in Seattle-area parks. Park rangers at Bridle Trails State Park in Kirkland, say the owls have been clawing people enough to draw blood multiple times.
King County officials have closed parts the Soaring Eagle regional park in Sammamish because of similar attacks.
The state Washington State Fish and Wildlife Department says the owls are young and territorial about new nesting spots.
Rangers say the owls seem to target people wearing head phones and women wearing their hair in pony tails.
