Local Indicators for Excellence receives 25k grant

YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakima Valley Community Foundation has awarded Yakima County Local Indicators for Excellence (YC-LIFE) a $25,000 grant.

YC-LIFE is a collaboration of citizens, service providers and leaders that serves as a backbone organization to local Collective Impact initiatives. The group provides centralized data collection, communication, planning, development support, and community mobilization. 

group will use the grant to fund support technology, used for centralized data collection and development assistance for emerging initiatives. The centralized system will manage information about the community and provide opportunities for collaboration.

The Yakima Valley Community Foundation (YVCF) was established in 2004 and has assets close to $50 million.  In seven years, YVCF has made grants of more than $5.5 million to nonprofit organizations.  YVCF is made up of more than 55 separate charitable funds, funded by donors.
