Americans assess latest home games

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans are back at practice after splitting their weekend home stand. Friday Tri-City lost to the Everett Silvertips a team the Ams already beaten four times this season. Saturday the Ams bounced back, taking down the top team in the WHL, the Kamloops Blazers. The Americans say they may have taken Everett too lightly, but were encouraged how they responded.

"If you look at Everett, we beat them four times, we may have thought, 'You know what, this is not going to be too hard of a game. If we play well, we should win,' and that wasn't good enough, clearly. But I really liked how we realized that against Kamloops we had to bring out best," head coach Jim Hiller said.

"I think we, you know, went back home and thought about the game and came out hard against probably one of the best teams in the league, and showed them what we're made of," Zach Yuen added.
