Beggar's Banquet helping children and families in crisis

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Safe Harbor Support Center is holding their annual Beggar's Banquet fundraiser Friday night.

The event benefits the center's support programs for children and families in crisis.

The banquet includes a soup tasting dinner with ten local restaurants offering up their best creations. There will also be a live and silent auction. All the money raised will help to turn around the lives of children.

"It means that that child has a much better chance of growing up to be a worthy adult that has some value in his life," said Nancy Russell, Safe Harbor Support Center.

Organizers say they expect around 400 people to attend Friday night's event and they have room for more, if you haven't bought a ticket yet.

The event started at 5pm at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, and continues 7:30pm.

Tickets are 45 dollars.
