Buena, WASH.-- Over a thousand people make use of the Buena Library each month, and it relies heavily on those community members to keep it running.
Friends Of Buena Library is a non-profit organization that raises funds for repairs or to start programs for the youth.
On Saturday, the organization held a bake sale and raised around $500. This money will go towards the libraries many educational programs, like after school tutoring and secondary English language classes.
"This is what provides kids with access to computers and literacy, books and programs that are just for their needs," said Virginia Obert, the President of Friends Of Buena Library.
The new library is a year old. Obert said they need between $4,000 to $6,000 a year to maintain it.
