Yakima City Council holds public budget hearing tomorrow night

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Yakima City Council wants to hear your opinions and concerns about their 2013 budget plan at tomorrow night's city council meeting.

The budget plan for next year includes bringing back the two new fire inspector positions, five new police officers, and building a new underpass.

The council says the budget was partly shaped by the citizen survey launched earlier this year.

"When the survey came back it was very clear, and so we are putting our emphasis in that and I think the public will know it," said City Council Member Maureen Adkinson.

Adkinson says she hopes the meeting covers other pressing issues, including the state of the city's roads.

The meeting starts tomorrow at six. It's happening in the city council chambers in city hall. It is open to the public.
