GRANDVIEW, Wash. - Law Enforcement Agencies from across Washington State are looking for a man from Grandview who officers say is armed and dangerous. Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies say 21 year old Marcel Maldonado from Grandview held up a convenience store on East Wine Country Road at around 6:30pm Monday. He drove off with an undisclosed amount of money but crashed his car 10 minutes later in the 2000 block of Wilson Highway. Deputies say Maldonado then carjacked a Ford Ranger at gunpoint from a homeowner in the area. At about 7:50pm Police say Maldonado dumped the Ford Ranger and carjacked a 2011 Silver Volkeswagon Jetta from a couple at the Selah rest stop then drove off on I-82 toward Ellensburg. Ellensburg Police spotted Maldonado inside the Jetta on Hwy 97 headed toward Blewett Pass and started to chase him, but had to stop the chase after it became too dangerous. Maldonado was last seen headed north toward Wenatchee in the stolen Jetta with Washington License Plates: AFB9512. If you have any information on this incident call the Yakima County Sheriff Detective Chief Graham or Detective Sergeant Udell at 509-574-2500.
