PASCO, Wash. - Members of the American Legion and VFW join the Pasco Honor Guard to recognize veterans at the City View Cemetery in Pasco.
An official read 20 names from around the northwest today and each was followed by the ringing of a bell.
Volunteers also fired ceremonial guns and held a flag folding.
"For me I would like to be honored in the way these veterans need to be honored. I take great pride in what I do for these fallen soldiers, it's a very humbling event," said Spc. Ryan Homer with the U.S. Army.
In 2008 the U.S. Supreme Court passed a resolution requiring that every veteran who has passed away be honored.
