Isaiah Thomas brings his talents to the Southridge Sports Complex this weekend. The former Washington Husky, and current Sacramento King, is partnering with the city of Kennewick to put on an Elite Youth basketball camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 16. The camp runs from 9 am to 3 pm and space is still available. Thomas says he just wants to be a positive role model for kids. More >>
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Runners from Kamiakin boys' cross-country team will race in a national meet. A month after Kamiakin took second in the 3A state tournament, the Brave Souls Runners club has an opportunity to take a national title, even with a top-runner Keegan McCormick sidelined with appendicitis. December first the student-athletes will race in the Nike Cross Country National Meet in Portland. The Braves got there by taking second place at the regional meet in Boise.
"We trained really hard this summer and we were supposed to have a down year, if you look at our last season graduating a lot of seniors. But we pushed and knew that we could have, we could go pretty far with what we had, talent wise," said Christian Rodriguez, Kamiakin Senior Runner.
"We won districts for the third year in a row, we placed second at Regionals, we placed second at State and then we took second at NXR (Nike Cross Country Regionals) and the only team we've lost to is NC (North Central, Spokane) and they've been tied for first in the nation," added Austin Oser, Kamiakin Senior Runner.
