"Toy Train Christmas" starts its three week run

Toppenish, WASH.--The ninth annual "Toy Train Christmas" event in Toppenish is off and running.

The family event is held at the Northern Pacific Railway Museum. Kids can take a ride in an old train car and go to the North Pole to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Visitors can also see over 35 model trains, and some can even be test driven by the kids.

"It gives children an opportunity to really connect with their families and be part of a really exciting event, and it's something that they will probably remember all of their life," said Judy Boekholder, a volunteer at the Railway Museum.

The museum is completely run by volunteers, and all profits from this event will go directly to the Railway Museum.

Volunteers said last year they had around 4,000 visitors, and this year they hope to see even more.
