WHITE SWAN, Wash. - A class on Indian tribes is renewing education enthusiasm for some tribal students at White Swan High School.

The Mount Adams School District recently created the online curriculum, and the state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction adopted it after a 2005 state law encouraged school districts in or near reservations to incorporate tribal studies.

The curriculum covers the history, culture and government of tribes across the country with an emphasis on Washington tribes.

It's available to all elementary, middle and high schools across the state and satisfies social studies requirements.
