PASCO, Wash.- A judge has assigned a new public defender to a man accused of identity theft.
Prosecutors say Clinton Crowder befriended a man with cancer and then cleaned out his bank account.
Crowder's former attorney says Crowder has become so hostile toward him, he can no longer effectively represent him.
Last month Crowder became a key player in the trial of Todd Stuart when he testified that while they were in jail Stuart admitted a plot to kill Stuart's mother-in law.
The jury acquitted Stuart of conspiracy charges.
