UPDATE: At about ten Wednesday morning a fire ruined a home on the corner of 46th and Stone on Spokane's South Hill. Fire investigators say they still do not know what caused the blaze, but they do know in started in the back corner of the home. The homeowner spoke with KHQ and he said that he had just left and 15 minutes later he got a call that his home had gone up in flames. He said he has four school-aged children, but at this point they were too emotional to go on camera. No one was injured.
Neighbor Tom Kearney manages the neighborhood watch program nearby and he said he just updated his list of contacts. He actually made the call to the man who lives at the place and let him know that a fire had started. Firefighters arrived in force as did a number of nearby onlookers.
