Powerball jackpot jumps to record-high $550 million

KENNEWICK, Wash., -- All you need is $2.00 and lots of luck; that's what it takes to win the record Powerball jackpot tonight.

The jackpot now stands at $550 million.

According to the Washington lottery, one of the luckiest stores to buy a ticket is located in the Tri-Cities!

The Pik-A-Pop convenience store on Columbia Drive in Kennewick has sold six jackpot tickets in the lottery's 30-year history.

"If I happen to win the jackpot, I'm splitting it evenly between me and my dad and then he's going to split half of that with my mom," says Amanda Milton.

"I would probably pay off my mom and my sister's houses and help out people that I know that were struggling; and also me, and buy a house," says Jacquelin Campbell.

Powerball officials estimate they will sell more than 100,000 tickets a minute before tonight's drawing.
