PASCO, Wash. - Wednesday night, students of all ages have the chance to improve their math skills while still having fun.
Columbia Basin College in Pasco is holding free family math night.
Teachers, math education students and community members set up more than 30 interactive game stations, geared for students from pre-school to high school.
Organizers say it's an opportunity for kids and parents to learn math in a fun way.
"It's important for parents to be doing math with their kids and having fun instead of telling their kids to do the math and then maybe checking answers," said Meg Bartrand, a teacher at CBC and a Math Night Instructor, "it gets a reputation for being dry, and it doesn't have to be dry."
Family Math Night is from 5 to 7 PM at the Hub Atrium at CBC. It's free to attend, and at the end of the night, organizers will give away door prizes to every child.
