PASCO, Wash. - The annual Alternative Gift Fair was Saturday at the Community United Universal Church in Pasco.
The event offered information about charity organizations that people can donate to in lieu of purchasing a gift for someone for Christmas. The idea behind the gather is to use your money for giving rather than buying.
"It's a way to give gifts that reflect the actual meaning of Christmas which is thinking of others more than ourselves and donating to people that are in need," said event organizer Teresa Robertson.
Some of the non-profits represented at the event support literacy efforts, domestic violence services and environmental protection.
