KENNEWICK, Wash. -- This season's Kennewick Lions girls' basketball team will rely on new leadership. Head coach Oliver Browning replaces Tarah Staton. Nine seniors will help replace graduates Angelique Whistocken and Kim Harrod.
"We're really good at scoring, shooting the ball, those types of things. It's when the ball is in the air when we're working hard to get position. Those things we need to work on. We've got to do a better job at team-defense, getting to the help side, talking on defense, blocking out and rebounding. We gave up way too many offensive rebounds to Moses Lake. They basically got to shoot it until they scored. We've just got to get better at that," Browning said.
Last season Kennewick went 8-13. They open this season's conference schedule December 14, at home against Hanford.
