Richland Teen Gets Art Published

RICHLAND, Wash.-  A Richland High School Freshman is taking her love for the arts and making a career out of it.

15-year-old Alexus Meyers' self-taught skills landed her a job drawing illustrations for a series of children's books.

It all started with her dad and step-mom seeing a Craigslist ad for the job and submitted Alexus' drawings.

Now, she's earned the title of Published Illustrator.

"Drawing is one of my favorite things to do just because I like the freedom to express myself.  It's awesome to be able to make fantasy instead of sticking to boring reality," Meyers said.

Alexus' first illustrated book cover, "The Complex" is written by Lucas Morris and is currently available on amazon.com.
