Washington Supreme Court Justice inspires Pasco students
PASCO, Wash. -- One Washington State Supreme Court Justice took some time off the bench to talk with some high school students in Pasco.
Justice Steven Gonzalez spoke at Chiawana High School Friday afternoon to students about his early life experience and how education paved the way to where he is today.
Gonzalez was elected to the highest court in the state in January of last year but worked for years as a trial judge in King County. The goal is to inspire future generations. Gonzalez also visited with Pasco High School students earlier Friday morning.
He says the key to success and independence is education. "It frees you from burdens of debt, from the burden of ignorance. It is the key to a prosperous future, not just for you but for our nation," Gonzalez said.
