Yakima, WASH.--Music was blasting and a lot of people were having a great time at West Valley High School Saturday. For her senior project, one student held a winter dance for adults with special needs.
Cassidy Stai said she's been working with the high schools special needs organization for three years and knew this was what she wanted to do,
She said adults with special needs don't have a lot of opportunities to get together for a fun event like this.
"Knowing that they're having a good time makes me have a good time," said Stai. "I feed off their energy completely so when they're up and they're dancing I can't help but smile and just love the fact that they're having a great time."
Stai said she's been planning her senior project for about a year. She expected about 100 people to show up for the party.
