KENNEWICK, Wash. - Thanks to a donation, Lourdes Counseling Center is getting thousands of dollars for program funding.
The Three Rivers Community Foundation made a $20,000 donation to help out the Children's Day Program, an intensive mental health treatment program for children, adolescents (ages 8-18) and their families.
The program provides a structured and safe environment to develop skills for coping with emotional and behavioral problems within an academic setting and in the home environment. It's a specialized program for children struggling with mental health who can no longer function in a traditional classroom setting.
The Three Rivers Community Foundation also made a $10,000 donation to Lourdes' Vocational Rehabilitation Program which helps place adults recovering from mental illness into living wage jobs in our community.
