Hermiston Mayor Dies After Heart Attack - NBC Right Now/KNDO/KNDU Tri-Cities, Yakima, WA |

HERMISTON, Ore. -  Employees for the City of Hermiston are mourning the death of the city's Mayor, Bob Severson. 

On Friday, paramedics airlifted him to Kadlec Regional Medical Center after he suffered a major heart attack. Hermiston City workers say 80-year-old Severson has had heart problems in the past.

"Mayor Bob" worked as a City Councilor and as the Hermiston Mayor for almost two decades. 

The city hasn't announced any plans for someone to fill the position.
