PASCO, Wash., -- United States Postal Service workers will deliver more than 18 billion cards, letters and packages this holiday season, and they're going green to reduce their carbon footprint.
Out of nearly 200,000 USPS vehicles, nearly 41,000 use alternative fuels, like biodiesel and electricity. That cuts down more than 700,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
Last year, the Postal Service recycled more than 215,000 tons of paper, keeping more than 30,000 tons of paper products out of landfills.
