KENNEWICK, Wash. -- 12-12-12 is the last repeating date of this century and it's a busy day for couples tying the knot as well.
"We were just talking about it and it's just one of those dates you're not going to forget. its extremely rare. it won't happen again for another 88 years," said Chris Ganwich who married Debi Starr at the Highlands Grange Hall in Kennewick.
They were the first of six couples to say their "I Do's" in a ceremony performed by officiants from "Uniquely I do,"
The officiants also performed 80 weddings on 11-11-11 at Memories of Sunset and said they wanted to keep today more personal. "This year we wanted to keep it a lot more low key than 11-11-11. on 11-11-11 we were actually trying to break the world record. this year we just wanted to accommodate all the couples who wanted to get married on this special day," said Stacey Miles, an officiant.
Cathy Mether and Michael Hoff of Pasco also said their I do's on this special day at the Franklin County Courthouse. The two were high school sweethearts that reunited three years ago. "We both picked the date. We just liked 12-12-12," they said.
