PASCO, Wash.-- Early Sunday morning Franklin County Sheriff's deputies responded to a possible rape of a minor on the 4400 block of Roberta Road in Pasco.
Mathew Arnett, a level two sex offender, was arrested on suspicion of rape of a 15-year-old female.
The Sheriff's Office is reminding people that it's important to know where sex offenders live and be aware that some do re-offend.
"That's why there is the three different levels to kind of give citizens the ability to understand that these people in these areas are more likely to reoffend," said Cpl. Gordon Thomasson, Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
People can go onto the Franklin county sheriff's office website to find a map and more information about where sex offenders live in their neighborhoods.
Cpl. Thomasson said this is the first time he's dealt with a case where a level 2 sex offender, repeat offended, but it's an important reminder that these cases do happen.
