OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FROM THE PEND OREILLE SHERIFF'S OFFICE: On Wednesday, December 12, 2012, deputies of the Pend Oreille County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Open Skies Road, located approximately 6 miles South of Usk, Washington to investigate multiple burglaries. Upon arrival, deputies found that eight residences were burglarized, which included property damage and thousands of dollars' worth of personal property stolen.

Through investigative leads, physical evidence, and citizen tips, deputies focused their attention on 25 year old James L. Nenema, and his girlfriend 25 year old Sarah J. Lucier, both of Cusick, who reside near the burglary scenes.

On Thursday, December 13, 2012, deputies contacted Nenema at his residence, and later served a search warrant at that location. During the search Lucier was found hiding in a crawl space under the residence. A large cache of stolen items to include hand and power tools, furniture, TVs, electronic items, home decorations, and miscellaneous household items were recovered.

Deputies arrested both Nenema and Lucier for Residential Burglary and Theft. This investigation remains ongoing with potential additional arrests and/or charges as deputies continue to follow-up on leads and process physical evidence.
