Veterans Receive Special Military Funeral Honors

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-  A special public ceremony honored 20 local veterans Tuesday.

The Veterans Memorial Tribute Program honors veterans who did not receive full military funeral honors at the time of their death.

The veterans names were read aloud during the special tribute ceremony at Mueller's Funeral Home, followed by the ringing of a bell and a moment of silence as those in uniform saluted.

Army National Guard, Sergeant Arioch Braver said, "It's good to give the people and their families military funeral honors to whom did not get one. I think it's a great honor to do it."

The memorial tribute program partners with veterans service organizations, funeral homes and cemeteries across the state to give veterans the tribute they deserve.
