30 Malnourished Dogs Seized In Idaho; Illegal Marijuana Operation Also Found

Posted: Updated:

CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) - Authorities in southwestern Idaho say 30 malnourished dogs have been seized from a Caldwell home that also appears to have contained an illegal marijuana growing operation.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office says 65-year-old Jerry Krebs faces 30 counts of animal cruelty and potential charges involving the marijuana.

Authorities say Canyon County Animal Control deputies received an anonymous tip Thursday morning from a person concerned about the welfare of the dogs.

When deputies arrived later that day they found the dogs as well as what appeared to be a marijuana growing operation. That led to a search warrant being obtained by the City County Narcotics Unit.

The dogs have been taken to a secure location to be evaluated by a licensed veterinarian.

SPOKANE, Wash. - It took a jury only a little more than two hours on Wednesday to find Daniel Arteaga guilty for the murder of Kim Schmidt. The prosecution said Arteaga was very jealous that his relationship was ending with Schmidt and she was moving on. They say that's part of the reason why he decided to kill her at the beginning of 2012. The defense disagreed saying that Arteaga was not there when she died and they think she may have even died of suicideMore >>
