Posted: Updated:

KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. -  A man is in the Kittitas County Corrections center after deputies say he led officers in a chase after stealing a car.

Kittitas County Sheriff's Deputies went to home on Kittitas Highway near Ellensburg after a man living there called 911, reporting that someone was in the process of stealing his son's pick up truck.

Deputies say the man and his son got in a different car and started following the truck, onto Vantage Highway and into Ellensburg. Deputies say the runaway driver hit multiple cars as it entered Canyon Road near McDonalds before deputies and troopers started following him on Umptanum Road.

Deputies say the truck finally crashed, and they arrested 41-year-old Richard LaFollette from Yakima.  Deputies booked him into the Kittitas County Corrections center for hit and run, felony eluding, motor vehicle theft and a felon in possession of a fire arm.
