Union Gospel Mission serving meals Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Union Gospel Mission in Yakima will serve Christmas meals both tonight and tomorrow afternoon.

The mission says need has gone up this year. They say they're serving as many as 250 people per meal.

Those who go to the dinner tonight will also get presents donated by community members. Organizers feel the event represents the best of the Christmas season.

"We love the fact that our community really, really responds to this event. We have so many generous donors," said Michele Campos with the Union Gospel Mission.

If you want to take part in tonight's dinner, you have to attend the chapel services, which are happening at five pm.

The actual meal is at six at the Union Gospel Mission's main building, located at 1300 North 1st Street. They'll give out the gifts after dinner.

Tomorrow, they'll serve Christmas meals at one pm. They will not give out presents at that meal.
