YAKIMA, Wash.-- With snow hitting Yakima for most of the day, police are warning drivers about some dangerous areas.
Police say drivers should watch out for intersections and roads on slopes.
Officers told us that Tieton Drive, with its many hills, is often an issue for drivers in the winter.
The intersection at 40th and Englewood can also cause problems because it sits at the top of a hill. Earlier this month, many drivers got stuck trying to make their way up.
"If you can, choose areas that avoid some of those problem areas, or that you've seen in the past have problems," said Yakima Police Sergeant Shawn Boyle.
Police say drivers should stay further away from each other so they have more time to stop.
They also say that even people with four-wheel-drive vehicles need to be careful. They can still slip and slide on the ice.
