That YouTube video showing a ninja-looking character slicing fruit – and Twinkies – is all real. And it was directed by a man with roots in Spokane.

Scott Winn, whose family still lives on Spokane's north side, directed and created "Fruit Ninja in real Life to Dubstep" with Jay Davis. The video, based on the game app, Fruit Ninja, shows actor-comedian Christian Busath slicing up fruit – and a Twinkie – in slow motion. It garnered more than 1 million views in its first 36 hours. As of Thursday it had nearly 15 million views.

The video also features a flying cat. And no, the cat was not sliced, and no animals were harmed in the production of the video.

Winn, in an interview for ESPN.com said the video is "100 percent real", and that he didn't expect Busath to slice it with such accuracy.
