WAPATO, Wash. - A teacher at Wapato High School will participate in the annual Washington Aerospace Scholars Program this summer.
The Museum of Flight in Seattle selected the science teacher, John Weisenfeld as one of 25 teachers in the state for the program. The teachers will proctor online student learning activities from now until May of 2013, and then chaperon students in a week-long intensive project-based learning session at the Museum of Flight in June or July.
The program emphasizes science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and encourages students to consider careers in those fields. The theme for the 7th annual session is "Mission to Mars."
