Crown Teeth Tattoos Are Trending

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - David Roberts of Blue Crown Dental Arts is an artist and crowns for teeth are his canvas.

The space he has to work with is only about four millimeters by four millimeters in size so he uses a paintbrush that has just three little bristles on it.

He's done hundreds of the mini masterpieces but he doesn't advertise it. Coincidentally, he gets business by word of mouth.

"The cougar logo's been a big one. I did a purple W once, against my will. But I also at the same time I did the W, on this particular patient, I dummied up a cougar logo and then had the office show her the cougar logo first. So I get a bit of mileage out of that," Roberts said.

Roberts first began doing the teeth tattoos on crowns back in the early 1970's.

A typical crown runs about $1,000 and the custom artwork by Roberts is just an additional $85.
