RICHLAND, Wash. - Richland Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping early Wednesday morning.
A woman says she was going to work and getting into her car on the 1000 block of Potter Ave. about 4:30 am. A man wearing a mask came up, punched her, and tried to shock her with a handheld stun-gun.
The woman was able to rip the mask and some gloves off the attacker during a struggle, and pressed the panic button on her car key fob alerting nearby family members. She has a cut on her hand and facial injuries. The man took off running.
A little later police got a call from a homeowner on the 1200 block of Perkins Ave. saying the suspect had run through her unlocked front door, out the back door, and through her back yard.
Police say they are looking for a white man, 35 - 37 years old.
Witnesses say he was wearing some sort of dark colored shirt with a white shirt underneath and blue jeans. Officers found his mask and gloves at the scene of the attempted kidnapping.
