The Canadian junior hockey team, led by Spokane Chiefs coach Don Nachbaur, lost in the semifinals of the World Junior Hockey Championships Thursday.

The Canadians lost 5-1 to the team from the United States. The Americans move on to face Sweden in the gold medal match on Saturday. Sweden is the defending champion.
