Homeless Network Taking Donations for Project Homeless Connect

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Homeless Network of Yakima County is looking for donations for its Project Homeless Connect event this month.

It offers homeless people a chance for a warm meal, haircut, and medical screenings at several places around the county.

The Homeless Network is accepting donations like warm coats, sleeping bags, and tents all month long.

These items are the most commonly needed this time of year.

"To somebody who's gonna spend the night outside tonight, it could really actually change their life. So, it may be a small thing for you but it's a really big thing to somebody who really needs it right now," says Homeless Programs Coordinator Avery Zoglman.

The Homeless Network is taking donations every Wednesday this month between four and seven pm, and every Saturday this month between nine and noon.

The drop off location is at 103 North 7th Avenue.

The actual event will take place on January 31st.
