YAKIMA, wash.--Two kids from the area are selected to represent the United States in a national karate tournament.
Twelve-year-old Devon Brown of Pasco and 13-year-old Anjelica Rivera of Yakima are both First Degree Black Belts.
They've won multiple medals and are now qualified for the 2013 Junior World Karate Championship Tournament in Australia.
"It's an honor for me to be able to go over to Australia and represent the United States in just one big tournament in front of a whole bunch of people," said Rivera.
Rivera said she trains at least seven hours a day because she loves it. She's the only girl in her age category selected to represent Washington state.
Brown also has quite the list of accomplishments. He is the youngest member of Team U.S.A. in the Pacific Northwest.
Both Rivera and Brown's parents said it's going to cost over $9,000 to compete in the tournament. They're asking for any help possible, either through private or corporate sponsorship.
If you'd like to help out, you can email the Rivera family at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Brown's family email address is email@example.com. Devon Brown also has a facebook page called "The Kata Kid."
