Recycle Your Tree and Donate to Camp Prime Time

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, wash.--The Christmas season is over. So now what to do with that tree?

Volunteers for Camp Prime Time will recycle it for you. Sunday is the last day.

You can either drop it off at Barnett Implement on Fruitvale Boulevard or take it to Colonial Law and Garden on West Washington Avenue.

All volunteers ask is that you donate whatever you can to Camp Prime Time.

Volunteers said they've been doing this for 23 years and people are always generous.

"We have people who have been coming down here every year to drop off their tree, and some people don't have a live tree anymore and they still come by to give us money," said Shirley Thietje, the camp manager.

Volunteers said this event usually brings in between $10,000-$15,000. This pays for one weekend at the camp, which offers an outdoor experience for seriously and terminally ill kids and their families.
