Pet Over Population Prevention Group Receives Large Donation

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash.-- The Pet Over Population Prevention group, POPP, received a huge donation this weekend.

Community members donated over 7,500 pounds of dog and cat food for their foster pets.

The group accepted the large amount of food over just three days.

The food will go towards feeding the pets who are awaiting adoption.

"We are just overwhelmed by the amount of food we received. It's going to feed so many animals for such a long time, that are in our foster program," said Nikki Avery, POPP volunteer.

POPP received mostly dog food donation and said they do need more cat food.

And they're always accepting other pet supplies, as well like leashes, toys and kitty litter.
