The Western States CAT "Dump Hunger" Food Drive Returns

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - Western States CAT wants you to help them dump hunger.  It's the fifth year of the company's "Dump Hunger" food drive campaign.  They're filling up dump trucks to help stock shelves in local food banks.

The drive is under way in five different states.  Western States chose this time of year because donations tend to decrease after the holiday season.  Brian McCoy, of the Western States CAT Pasco office said, "Dump Hunger is really important this time of year, January and February are the lowest donation periods for food banks. A 36% drop in donations is usually noted."

The Dump Hunger food drive runs through February 8th.  You can donate non-perishable items at any Western States CAT location, and participating Albertson's grocery stores. You can also make a monetary donations at Wells Fargo banks.
