SELAH, wash.--There was a lot of school spirit packed into the Selah High School Gym Saturday.
Eleven cheer teams from across the Yakima Valley, the Tri-Cities and Moses Lake competed for the top spot in their division. But Saturday wasn't just about winning a trophy, it was also about qualifying for the state competition.
Teams said going to state is something they work towards all season.
At the end of the day, Hanford High School earned the most points, qualifying them for state along with Selah, West Valley, Moses Lake and Sunnyside high schools.
The state competition will be held later this month at the University of Washington, in Seattle.
