Wishes In Flight Frequent Flyer Mileage Drive with KNDU/KNDO/KHQ
Who and what is Make-A-Wish Washington
Make-A-Wish® Alaska and Washington's mission is simple and clear. We do one thing: grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Since 1986, our local chapter has granted unparalleled wishes to more than 5,100 children in our communities. Our organization is an independent chapter of Make-A-Wish, the premier wish-granting organization for children.
Although it has become one of the world's most well-known charities, Make-A-Wish has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission. More than 500 volunteers make our work possible in our communities.
We grant a wish to every eligible child referred to our chapter who lives in Alaska or Washington, but there are many more who qualify. Right now, for every child who receives the life-affirming gift of a wish experience, there is another child we are still trying to reach. This is a problem we can solve and donations of frequent flier miles will help us stretch our dollars and get a step closer to this vision.
Why are wishes important:
Make-A-Wish® America commissioned a national survey by the TCC Group, a respected consulting firm with extensive experience in developing strategies and programs to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations in order to achieve social impact. The goal was to gain a better understanding of the effects of a wish come true. The results were astounding:
