One Step Closer To Filling Delvin's Senate Seat

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash. - Benton County Republicans will select three finalists Thursday night to replace 8th District State Senator Jerome Delvin. Six republicans are vying for his vacant senate seat.

They are West Richland city council member Toney Benegas, Kennewick Mayor Pro Tem Sharon Brown, State Representatives Larry Haler and Brad Klippert, former Benton County GOP Chairman Patrick McBurney and Robert Miles.

"Those six candidates plus any that are nominated from the floor will be voted on by the precinct committee officers from the 8th district. Then we will narrow it down to three which I will then submit to the county commissioners to make their choice. So, this is a very important part of the process," said Benton County GOP Chairman Vic Parrish.

Benton County Republicans are holding that meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Richland Public Library.
